Welcome to our website through which we seek to provide an insight into the Club's activities.
The Club's origin stems from 1969 and was initially established on a farm within the Ashdown Forest from where it acquired its name. Since 1987 the club has been resident at Buxted Park near Uckfield, East Sussex and forms part of the Buxted Park Sports Association.
Club activities include target archery all year round at Buxted. Our field archery season runs from October through to March within an attractively wooded setting in Crowborough and all year at Eastland Wood, Fletching.
There are currently approximately fifty active members aged from eleven to eighty. Shooting styles reflect individual preferences with equipment ranging from the traditional long bow through to the modern recurve and high tech compound bows.
Buxted Park offers an idyllic setting and the facilities available are excellent. They include a modern club house, changing facilities and a licensed bar. Shooting takes place every Sunday morning and Thursday evenings from mid April until mid September.
We participate in the summer Sussex Albion League and the Winter Frostbite and Portsmouth Leagues.
We shoot at two attractive wooded field courses - Friars Gate Farm, Crowborough and Eastland Wood, Fletching, East Sussex.
For those seeking an introduction to the sport a beginners' course is run in May of each year, further details of which appear on the Beginners' Course page.
