Friars Gate Archers Outdoor Championships 2007

Summer finally returned to coincide with this years Club Championships held on Sunday 26th August. Aided by the weather this years championships, which featured a Western round, attracted a field of 24 combatants competing for the titles at stake.

The Compound competition was particulary hard fought with just six points separating the top three, with Keith just winning through with 832, followed by Brian with 830 and Arthur with 826.

Youth triumphed in the Recurve section with Tom wrestling the title from Jim by 16 points, with Mark third. With Jim turning professional next year, i.e. retiring, Tom will have his work cut out to keep his title.

Pam turned the tables on Penny to win the Ladies Compound Title and was hard on the heels of husband Gary. Careful Pam!

Julia took the Ladies Recurve title and Rachael maintained her Junior girl title, with Dad winning through in the Gents Longbow. Henry won through in the Boys AFB Section

Father & son newcomers Sheldon & Glenn made their presence felt with Sheldon taking the Junior Boys recurve whilst Dad was the overall handicap winner.
