Plumpton v FGA 26/7/9

Bolstered by a strong contingent of new members anxious to develop their recently acquired skills twenty six archers travelled to Plumpton for the first Albion League match of the season. The weather turned out to be excellent and a good days shooting was enjoyed by all followed by some excellent hospitality from Plumpton Archers.

Alan Mitchell (Compound UL) of Plumpton shot a fantastic round of 960 which included 102 out of 108 golds, just 12 points short of perfection, bettering his own Sussex County Record. Alan was far and away the best scorer with Arthur, our best scorer, trailing by 42 points.

Plumpton won the day by 69 points - 3306 against 3237 and so thoroughly deserved their victory.

FGA v Chichester 23/8/9

Another glorious day in terms of the weather though not so good in terms of FGA scores. Chichester were just too strong for us winning by a margin of 129 points - 3376 v 3247. Gary Footman of Chichester shooting for just 8 months, self taught with a bow purchased via Ebay managed a creditable 848, second behind Eric Pember with 890.

Holbrook v FGA 6/9/09

Success at last! We managed to overhaul Holbrok Archers by a convincing 348 point margin scoring 3223 against 2875. There is hope we may stay in Division 1 next year. Congratulations to Gary,Ken,Jim & Laurie.
