Sussex and SCAS Indoor Championships 2011

Sussex and SCAS Indoor Champs, The K2 Crawley, 6th March 2011

On Sunday 6th March the SCAS Open Championships, the Sussex Indoor Championships and the Sussex Open Team Event were held. The first two were decided by the highest single score from the two Portsmouth rounds with the team event being a FITA 18.

Adele McPeake, Pete Mann & Ben Edwards shot all three rounds, with Ian Martin shooting the FITA 18 as the fourth member of the team. With each round taking 3 hours, with 64 targets per round, this was a formidable event.

Adele had a great day with her 567 in the Portsmouth securing first place in the Sussex women's recurve and 2nd place in the Southern Counties event. Her double round of 1118 also secured her second place.

Pete, in what he claims was his last recurve event, scored 545 in his Portsmouth round securing 14th place in the Sussex, 41st in the Southern Counties and his 1083 in the double round giving him 10th place.

Ben, in his first official tournament, shot a 557 in the Portsmouth to be 8th in Sussex, 20th in the Southern Counties and his new personal best 1111 in the double round good enough for 5th Place.

FGA were 8th in the team event against some strong competition, including England Team Archer Nichola Simpson, scoring 2096 for the combined score. This included a 545 by Ben, a new personal best by 28 points!!!
